After taking my son to a freestyle event in the base area at Stevens Pass Ski Resort, we stopped by to do some filming at Eagle Falls. He thought it was pretty cool but by the time I got the Kessler Pocket Traveler jib crane set up, he had already found a rock to play video games on. I slapped a Tiffen Variable ND Filter on the Sigma 18-35mm Art Lens to get a shallow depth of field with the rocky foreground. This combo on the Panasonic GH4 with a Metabones Speedbooster, truly brings the best out of the camera.
Moving locations from rock to rock wasn't easy with a jib crane mounted on the tripod, so after nailing a few clips I was happy with, I moved lower with a Rokinon 8mm fisheye. The handy little Manfrotto Mini Tripod gave me some great low angle static shots just before the sunlight left. I highly recommend stopping by Eagle Falls to anyone passing by on highway 2, it's an amazing view to take in just off the road.
