On a beautiful sunny day with scattered clouds in Seattle, I found the perfect opportunity to capture the city from above. I arrived at the Myrtle Edwards waterfront park with a couple hours before sunset and plenty of time to set up the DJI Phantom 3 Professional. I put on a Snake River Prototyping ND8 CP filter to combat the sunlight and burned through the first battery flying up and down the shoreline while avoiding seagulls.
For the second battery, I took flight without the filter as the lighting was getting a bit dim. The sunset was casting some amazing pink and purple colors across the skyline creating great contrast on the landmark Space Needle. With slow aerial movements across the skyscrapers, pier, and ferry boat, I felt my little drone did the town justice.
