Searching for a short snowshoe hike to film some early winter Powder in the mountains, Jeremy Dubs and I drove just past the parking lots of Stevens Pass Winter Resort and pulled up at C. Yodeling, a couple miles East on Highway 2. The mission was to find an old burn forest up on the ridge called “Welldiggers Ass”. Washington’s Hike finder map at WTA.org put us on to some unique images of burnt forest trees in the snow.
We got to charging', but the trail had a lot of switchbacks and at some point I think we got sent out in the wrong direction. Eventually the thick trees popped open for a view of the dead burn forest up on the ridge. Time constraints made drone filming the best option so we fought the wind for some aerial exploring of the area.
